Our Management Style
P:N has a proven ability to manage complex projects. Our usual practice is to build interdisciplinary teams headed by
a senior P:N consultant. Each Team Leader maintains a technical role in the assignment while also managing team activities
and liaising with the client. The Leader calls upon the Firm's "in house" management and administration for quality management,
tracking project expenses, invoicing and disbursing funds. In larger and more complex assignments, we build more formal internal
monitoring functions into their design. The Firm nurtures a collegial atmosphere in the office where "lessons learned" in one
assignment are incorporated into future practice.
We view planning, monitoring, management and evaluation as dynamic tools to improve community/institutional capacity and performance,
whether it is used for conducting needs assessments, generating "futures" scenarios or for evaluation. To this end, we consider
clients and other key stakeholders as central to the design and implementation of our assignments. We also feel that it is important
to include all stakeholder perspectives particularly those of marginalized groups such as women, minorities and poor communities.
All P:N personnel have roots in the community development milieu and understand the importance of a participatory approach.
P:N is committed to providing services which promote lasting improvements to the quality of community life. In the design and
implementation of projects, the Firm emphasizes sustainable development through a harmonious balance between communities and the
natural environment. We approach our work with a sensitivity that enables community values, needs, attitudes, traditions and
expectations to be heard and incorporated into the development process.
