Making Ripples is Harder than Making Waves
Just like throwing stones into water and making ripples, the inputs
of our activities often "ripple-out" results further that our immediate
observations. For example, a clean-water project may involve such
activities such as, holding community meetings and installing clean
water pumps. The immediate result is, obviously, a core of aware individuals
motivated to get some wells dug, taps installed, etc. Later, we can
expect to see increased community activity, benefiting from the clean
water. If all goes well, in the long term, this results in a healthier,
more self reliant community.
